A Success Story of Donat Bahagia with ESB

Donat bahagia (Dobah) is the name of a cafe that sells various sweet donuts with classic to innovative toppings, such as chocolate sprinkles, powdered sugar, fruits, marshmallows, and more. This donut business was initially started by the siblings Novia Rahmadani, Meilinda, and Dewi Wulandari. They began their venture selling desserts, which eventually folded in 2018, prompting them to brainstorm other businesses by selling donuts.

From the sales of these donuts, gradually the business bore fruit by gaining positive attention from many people interested in the taste of these donuts. As of April 2024, the Donat bahagia outlets have expanded to 4 branches in Cipete, Bintaro, Bekasi, Bandung, and Surabaya.

In achieving this, ESB has also helped Donat bahagia to grow further with integrated advanced technology, such as ESB POS and ESB Order. ESB, together with Lala as the Donat bahagia supervisor, shares how this business has reached its current position using ESB products and what has been done to ensure Donat bahagia continues to thrive in the F&B business.

Can you tell us a little bit about the daily customer traffic at Dobah?

As for the traffic, it's always bustling, but for orders on weekdays, visitors tend to order one by one. But on weekends, orders tend to flood in all at once. The difference is only in that aspect, so it can be said that the traffic is stable, sales are very high, and there is indeed enthusiasm from visitors (especially) in the South Jakarta Cipete branch, which is very active.

But, during quiet times, do you conduct evaluations for the store?

For evaluations during quiet times, we usually evaluate our team members. Like the performance of each individual. As for the ESB system, perhaps it's more of an evaluation or briefing every few weeks.

Before working at Dobah (in the F&B field), did you already use a POS system or was it still manual? Tell us about the difference.

Before, I did work in the F&B field and used a POS system, but it belonged to another brand. But when it comes to differences, of course, there are significant ones, ESB's system is more flexible, easier, and simpler. Because, first in terms of ease. The cashier team can quickly handle orders, and customers can also see the menu notes like a brief explanation of "what are the toppings?" all answered in the ESB Order.

Are there any problems you face daily when using the ESB system?

So far, everything has been smooth, the ESB system is still secure. It's just that there are some human errors, either from the crew entering the wrong input or the wrong order. But so far, everything is safe, nothing is wrong. Fortunately, every time our crew makes a human error, the ESB support team responds very quickly to all the issues we input. Plus point, there won't be any additional charges from ESB when we need help with the system.

Discussing a bit about the features, what benefits do you feel from the ESB POS and Order system?

The benefits obtained, from data input to sales recap are faster (for cashiers). It indirectly helps the customers too, because they don't have to wait in line to see the menu, just scan the barcode and it's done, then pay to the cashier.

Then, the payment system is also very complete, because there are always customers asking, "Can I pay with A, B, C, or D?" Fortunately, ESB Order can handle all payments, making it very convenient for customers. So, it makes it easier for our customers online, and for us (cashiers), we no longer have to struggle to find change or small change.

Referring to the integrated ESB system, do you also feel that?

With this integrated system, all sales recaps are easier and easier to manage. So, if there's a trainee, it's easier to teach them how to manage recaps through just one application. So far, it's been very helpful.

Lastly, would you recommend the ESB system to other culinary business owners?
