Gregorius Yoga, the founder, and CBDO of Tjemara Noodle Bar, started his business by collaborating with college friends selling satay and fried rice. "Back in college in Bandung, we dreamed of opening something together after graduation. Finally, we opened Mie Tjemara to continue being beneficial to many people," Yoga shared during a meeting with the ESB team.
Now, Mie Tjemara boasts 7 branches spread across Yogyakarta, Solo, Semarang, Purwokerto, and Surabaya. The name 'Tjemara' itself comes from Yoga's grandmother's shop, which used to be called Tjemara 2. "We wanted to carry on Grandma's spirit of being a blessing to many. We also want Mie Tjemara to be a way to show our gratitude to our parents who have supported us to achieve success," Yoga continued.

Mie Tjemara is not just any ordinary noodle bar. "What sets us apart is that we use quality ingredients and all our menus are authentic," Yoga explained. Mie Tjemara highlights the genuine flavors from various regions, such as the Szechuan menu with ingredients imported directly from China, or the Singapore noodles that compete with the original taste.
